The road from Turre winds up into the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountains and takes you to the Cortijo Grande golf resort (though at present the golf course is not in use) where there are villas and a couple of restaurants. The villa is located on a small quiet road at the top of a hill hence the impressive outlook and is very private as the only neighbours are below the house. There is plenty of space to park two or three cars at the end of the drive outside the house.
The house is built on 2 floors with the living area upstairs and the bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs. It was built and designed by the current owners in 1980 and has been their holiday home ever since. There is a large south facing terrace which looks up to the view of the Sierra Cabrera mountains. Off of the terrace is a room that is currently used as a hobby room but could easily be made into a bedroom and would have its own independent access. The front door leads into a hall featuring columns on either side of the steps taking you down to the spacious sitting room with high ceilings. There is a cloakroom off the hall with basin and seperate WC.
The sitting - dining room has large windows with wonderful views of the valley and has a fireplace with log burner. There is a large terrace going out from the sitting room with plenty of space for table and chairs. The dining room has its own area next to the kitchen, also framed by elegant columns, with doors leading out onto a covered veranda on one side and a patio on the other. On one side there are cupboards for plenty of storage space. The kitchen is fitted and fully equipped with a window looking onto the view from the kitchen sink. At the far end of the kitchen is a small utility area with washing machine and more cupboards for storage. From the kitchen is a door to the enclosed patio, a lovely space for outdoor dining and enjoying summer evenings. There are tiled benches and bar area plus a glass door accessing the side of the house. There is also a store room in the patio and a separate utility patio with a spare fridge and an area for hanging out the washing.
The covered veranda leading out from the other side of the dining room has a built in BBQ and steps going down to the swimming pool. The pool area has plenty of room for sun loungers and the pool itself is big. There are stairs from the pool down to the bedrooms.
Downstairs, via an internal staircase, are 3 bedrooms, all with doors out onto the lower terrace and with the same beautiful views of the valley. The master bedroom has built in wardrobes and en suite bathroom with bath. One of the other bedrooms also has built in wardrobes, and both rooms have a door into a shared bathroom with bath.
There are white marble floors (locally sourced) throughout the villa which makes for cool interiors in the summer time. The house is equipped with central heating (gasoil) in all the rooms and AC/H unit in the lounge. Underneath the house is a store room with the 2 electric water heaters for the bedrooms, the gasoil tank for the heating and a water softner.

Cortijo Grande is a very picturesque valley at the foot of the Sierra Cabrera mountains with around 200 properties that date back from the late 70's & early 80's. Distance to Turre village centre: 5.5km.
